Dr. Koji Oishi
Since 1986 to 1996, Dr. Koji Oishi spent many years in the MAFF’s head office and the NVAL, being engaged in both administrative and laboratory work in evaluation of the veterinary pharmaceuticals and biologicals. During this period, he was sent to Indonesia as an expert on quality control of veterinary medicine in 1990 under the JICA project.
He was assigned to The Embassy of the Japan in URUGUAY (1996-1999) as the First Secretary, where he gained knowledge on animal health and other agricultural and livestock issues in South America countries.
Before Dr. Oishi returned the NVAL, he was the Deputy Director of the Risk Assessment Division of the Food Safety Commission(2003-2005) and the Deputy Director of the Animal Products Safety Division of MAFF (1999-2002, 2005-2008), where he acquired his knowledge in veterinary pharmaceuticals and animal production food safety regulations.
Since 2015 to 2018, he has been in charge of “Director, Assay Division 1, National veterinary Assay Laboratory” and retired.
